About Mrs. Woods |
Hello scholar! This is my 18th year of teaching; however, this school year marks an extremely happy occasion for me. I am finally transitioning from middle school to high school. My mother is a retired teacher, and I was heavily influenced by her and almost all my high school teachers to become an educator. I envisioned myself as a high school teacher, and this year I finally get that opportunity. Quite naturally, I stayed in Memphis to attend undergrad. I attended Christian Brothers University on a full scholarship, and I earned my B.A. in English with a minor in Education. I also have a Master's of Art in Teaching from Cumberland University and an MBA from Walden University. I am married to a wonderful Memphis Fire Fighter/Paramedic, and we have two adorable boys. The oldest is excited to start his first year of middle school. In addition to teaching, I enjoy running a small custom cake business and an on-line Esty shop. I am an avid believer that all students are scholars in their own right. Students who are willing to put in the work towards a goal will reap the rewards. My personal goal every year is to inspire and to instill a love of knowledge in my students. I am also a firm believer that prayer, hard work, and a positive attitude can take you anywhere.
